“Wine and music have always been, for me, a magnificent corkscrew.”
A. Chekhov
Isabella and Cecilia: two sisters, one family passion turned into a vision.
We’re originally from Santa Maria della Versa, right in the heart of Oltrepò Pavese, and our vineyards have been in the family since the time of the Great War. For generations, these hills have been part of our family’s story — and now, they’ve become part of ours: two women whose careers had taken them far from winemaking, but who have always felt deeply connected to the land.
In 2020, a fortunate reunion with Fabrizio — a childhood friend and local winemaker from a long line of winegrowers — sparked something new: the desire to bring our vineyards back to life, turning a legacy into a living project.
A new way of making wine: tradition, natural methods, and scientific research.
From the start, our vision was clear: to blend traditional winemaking techniques with a deep respect for the natural essence of wine, highlighting its most fascinating elements. What truly caught our attention was resveratrol — a well-known polyphenol found in red wine, celebrated for its potential health benefits — and polydatin, its lesser-known biological precursor, which is even more powerful.
We chose to work with natural methods to increase the concentration of resveratrol and polydatin in our wines, while preserving the full integrity of the grapes. Thanks to the longevity of our historic vineyards and a modern, thoughtful reinterpretation of winemaking techniques, our red wines now have a truly unique identity — rich, balanced, and unmistakably ours.
Science confirms our intuition.
Scientific research has guided us and strengthened our vision. A key study states: “Choosing a terroir suited for quality and adopting a sustainable viticultural approach promotes an optimal polyphenolic profile. The winemaker’s role is simply to accompany the process, without corrective interventions.”(Hrelia/Malaguti – Wine: From Culture to Health Effects)
This is exactly the philosophy we’ve embraced: a wine that’s born from the earth, informed by science, and arrives in the glass with true authenticity.

And we always like to remind ourselves: drinking wine is a conscious and cultural act.
“Best Vinum Innovation” award 2024
Le Vigne di Isabella e Cecilia received the “Best Vinum Innovation” award during the 2024 edition of Best Wine Stars, held in Milan at Palazzo del Ghiaccio.
This recognition was awarded for their “Enhanced Resveratrol” project, which combines natural winemaking techniques with a scientific approach aimed at increasing the concentration of resveratrol and polydatin in their wines, particularly in RES Rosso da Blend Unico.
The award was presented by Adua Villa, entrepreneur, sommelier, and wine writer, during the award ceremony attended by numerous industry professionals and journalists.
